The 8th Cross-strait Debate Contest of The Art of War was held in Huimin, Binzhou from September 12th to 13th. Debater from Binzhou University, National Chengchi University, Fu Jen Catholic University, Tamkang University, Linyi University and Suzhou University of Science and Technology had comprehensive debate competitions on the topics of “Complete victory or defeat, which is more focused in traditional Chinese military science” and “Strategic method or benevolent method, which is more applied in military domain”.
The debaters while having fierce competition on the stage, they also expressed their thoughts of traditional military science and Chinese culture. Through this competition, the enthusiasm of excellent Chinese traditional culture among university students on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
As this competition came to an end, the Jinsheng Cup went to Binzhou University and National Chengchi University; the Yuzhen Cup went to Linyi University and Tamkang University; the Yuxi Cup went to Suzhou University of Science and Technology and Fu Jen Catholic University. Li Haoran from Binzhou University and Li Jing from National Chengchi University were awarded with the Best Debater; Li Chaoyang from Binzhou University, Chen Shaoyu from Fu Jen Catholic University and other 12 contestants were awarded with the Excellent Debater.
As one of the fundamental part of the 9th Cross-strait Sun Tzu Culture Forum in Binzhou. this competition, aiming to enhance the friendly exchange of young generation from both sides and carry forward Sun Tzu culture, was co-hosted by Shandong Sun Tzu Seminar, Binzhou Municipal Government, Sun Tzu Research Institute of BZU, Binzhou Sun Tzu Seminar, Taiwan Affairs Office of Binzhou Municipal Government, Huimin County People’s Government and Taiwan Research Society of Sun Tzu’s The Art of War.
