On November 21st, sponsored by Binzhou Science and Technology Association and hosted by Shandong Key Laboratory of Yellow River Delta Ecological Environment and School of Biological and Environmental Engineering of our school, Bohai Science and Technology Forum-Yellow River Delta Ecological Protection and High-quality Development National Academic Seminar was successfully held in the third lecture hall of the Academy Hall of our school. Li Weinian, member of the party committee and vice president of our school, and Xu Jian, party secretary and chairman of Binzhou Science and Technology Association, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. The heads of the scientific research department of our school presided over the opening ceremony.
In his speech, Li Weinian, on behalf of all the teachers and students of our school, expressed warm welcome and best wishes to the leaders, experts, scholars and colleagues who came to the meeting, and introduced the basic situation of our school, especially the research on the ecological environment of the Yellow River Delta. He pointed out that Binzhou University is the only provincial full-time comprehensive general undergraduate college in the Yellow River Delta region. It has provincial and ministerial key disciplines such as ecology and ecological culture, and has established the Shandong Province Yellow River Delta Ecological Environment Key Laboratory, Shandong Province Yellow River Delta Fragile Ecological Zone Engineering Technology Research Center and other provincial and ministerial innovation platforms shoulder the major responsibility and mission of improving the ecological environment of the Yellow River Delta and building regional ecological civilization. This seminar focused on the national strategy of ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin, focusing on discussions and exchanges on global climate change, ecological restoration of coastal wetlands, green improvement of saline-alkali land, and ecological environment safety assessment. I believe that through this seminar, the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech at the Yellow River Basin Ecological Protection and High-quality Development Symposium will be better practiced, and relevant research theories and application technologies such as the ecological restoration of coastal wetlands in the Yellow River Delta and the green improvement of saline-alkali land will be enriched. It is conducive to building a green ecological barrier on the coast of the Yellow River Delta and promoting the construction of ecological civilization in the Yellow River Delta region. This seminar will also vigorously promote the development of ecology in our school, and provide intellectual support and decision-making guidance for the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Delta.
