On the afternoon of September 8, Xu Jian, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Binzhou, Pei Mei, Deputy Director, and a group of three other members came to the school for investigation. Liu Chunhua, secretary of the school’s party committee, and Guo Xinwei, member of the party committee and vice president, attended the symposium.

Liu Chunhua extended a warm welcome to Xu Jian and other members, and expressed her gratitude to the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office for its guidance and assistance in the international exchange and cooperation work of Binzhou University. She pointed out that the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the Opinions on Strengthening and Improving the Ideological and Political Work of Colleges and Universities under the New Situation in February 2017, which identified international exchanges and cooperation as the fifth function of colleges and universities for the first time. Binzhou University adjusted the orientation of the school in a timely manner. BZU would actively promote the global vision of running schools, and have achieved certain results. In the future, the school will continue to expand and strengthen exchanges and cooperate with foreign (overseas) colleges and universities, to strengthen the international training of teachers and students. BZU hoped that the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office would continue to provide support during the process. Xu Jian also expressed her deep gratitude to Binzhou University for supporting the work of the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office over the years. She said that Binzhou University is the top institution of higher education in our city, and the opening up of the School is also an important part of our foreign affairs. Restricted by the Covid-19 pandemic in last two years, international exchanges and cooperation affairs have been greatly affected, but challenges are also opportunities. The Municipal Foreign Affairs Office is willing to strengthen cooperation with Binzhou University to exchange information, resource sharing, and jointly promote the international development of Binzhou.

Guo Xinwei introduced the basic situation of our school's international exchange and cooperation work. The two parties conducted preliminary consultations on the intention of the next step of cooperation.

The heads of the school office, the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, and the School of Humanities attended the forum.
