From November 15th to 25th, Li Weinian, a member of the school’s party committee and vice president, led the heads of the Scientific Research Office, the Graduate Office and related personnel to 12 secondary colleges including the School of Aeronautical Engineering, the School of Science, and the School of Humanities to carry out the construction of disciplines and degree programs.
When he went to the second-level college, Li Weinian fully affirmed the construction achievements and directly addressed the existing problems. For the new round of degree authorization review in 2023, the time is tight and the tasks are heavy. For the next step of construction work, he requested that we should seize the opportunity of our school to become a master's degree granting unit and correctly grasp the new situation and requirements. To further enhance the sense of mission and urgency, we have the original measures and achievements, face the problems directly, and make great efforts to do a good job in the construction of disciplines and degree programs. He emphasized that, first, we must highlight the problem orientation and accurately grasp the situation and tasks. Comprehensively benchmark the basic requirements for applying for degree points, sort out shortcomings, especially subject teams, scientific research projects, scientific research funding, teaching and scientific research awards, etc. Implement precise policies, strengthen supervision, and seek practical results. Second, we must strengthen the connotation construction, and comprehensively optimize and improve the overall level of the discipline. Based on competition planning and construction, on the basis of making up for the shortcomings, we must pay more attention to the icing on the cake, highlight the academic background, enhance the service quality, strengthen the advantages and characteristics, vigorously improve the level of various construction indicators, and continuously enhance the influence of the discipline and core competitiveness. Third, we must strengthen organizational leadership and earnestly implement construction tasks. Each generation has the mission of a generation. The person in charge of the discipline and the leader of the discipline must take the responsibility in the spirit of letting others take it, grasping ideological understanding, strategic planning, the subject team, the subject project and the platform base. There are core issues, increase confidence, take the initiative, innovate ideas, face difficulties, and strive to use the remaining more than a year to successfully fight the tough battle for degree construction.
