On December 4th, the National Academic Symposium on Chinese Regional Literature and Binzhou Literature Research co-sponsored by our school, Binzhou Writers Association, Binzhou Art Critics Association, and Binzhou Dramatists Association was organized by the School of Humanities in the lecture hall. Li Weinian, member of the party committee and vice president of our school, Zhou Haibo, professor of the School of Literature and Journalism and Communication of Qingdao University, and Liu Qingxiang, vice chairman of Binzhou Federation of Literary and Art Circles and chairman of Binzhou Writers Association, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Affected by the Covid-19 situation, this symposium was conducted in a mixed mode both online and offline.
On behalf of all teachers and students of our school, Li Weinian expressed his warm welcome and sincere thanks to the leaders, experts, scholars and colleagues who came to the meeting, and introduced the basic situation of our school. He pointed out that the study of regional literature has always been a hot spot in the academic world. A systematic investigation of Chinese regional literature and Binzhou literature from the perspective of regional culture can open up a new world for literary creation and research. This academic seminar is not only a strong support and affirmation of our school's work, but also an encouragement and spur to our school's academic research, providing a valuable opportunity for in-depth research on Chinese regional literature and Binzhou literature. He hoped that taking the conference as an opportunity to further deepen exchanges and cooperation, strive to build a regional academic and cultural community, and strive to achieve greater gains in Chinese regional literature and Binzhou literature research.
Zhou Haibo warmly congratulated the convening of this academic seminar and highly praised the development of Binzhou University and the school's contribution to regional economic and social development. He hoped that through the convening of this forum, experts would deeply discuss the issues in the development of Chinese regional literature and Binzhou literature, actively make suggestions and provide new ideas for the development of regional literature research.
In his speech, Liu Qingxiang introduced the achievements of the innovation and development of Binzhou Literature in recent years. He said that the Binzhou Literature Research Center of Binzhou University is an important platform to promote Binzhou literature research. The convening of this conference is a major event in Binzhou literature research. He encouraged Binzhou writers to produce better literary works under the promotion of this conference.
In the theme report session, Zhou Haibo, Professor Zhang Jianbo of Shandong University of Political Science and Law, Professor Zhou Aihua of Shandong University of Arts, and Associate Professor Pan Jing of the Party School of Shengli Oilfield Training Center respectively made the speeches entitled with Between “Beijing and Sea”: Qingdao as a case of Chinese literature in the 1930s, Moral Narrative · Folk Culture · Human Nature Exploration-On Yushi's Three Topics on Homecoming, Research on the Relationship between the Yellow River and Dao Qing Opera-A Discussion Centered in Shandong Province, and Looking for the Poetic Feelings of Sinking: an online report of the collection of poems The Tribe of Poets at the Yellow River Mouth. Xu Yanhua, executive vice chairman of Binzhou Writers Association, and Geng Baoqiang, professor of our school, respectively made the speeches entitled with The Uplifting Literary Plain-Current Status and Possibilities of Contemporary Binzhou Literature and The Watch and Escape of the Countryside: Binzhou Current Prose in the Perspective of Regional Literature on-site report. In the group discussion session, the participating experts and scholars respectively centered on the topics of regional literature, prose, poetry novels and drama researches. They introduced the research findings achieved in their own research fields, and proposed relevant disciplines and regional literature development with suggestions.
Scholars from Shanxi Normal University, Shandong University Weihai Campus, Shandong University of Science and Technology, Taiyuan Normal University, Qilu Normal University, Jining College, Binzhou Art Critics Association, Binzhou Dramatists Association, as well as the heads of the Scientific Research Office, the School of Humanities and related teachers of our school Health representatives attended the seminar.
