In the afternoon of June 27th, the send-off ceremony for volunteers of the 2024 Western Plan was held in the Mingde Lecture Hall of Shandong University of Aeronautics. Yin Meiying, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Heads from the Student Affairs Department, the Admissions and Employment Office, the Cooperation and Development Office, the Youth League Committee, as well as the secretaries and deputy secretaries of the Party committees, secretaries of the Youth League committees, instructors, and the 2024 Western Plan volunteers of the relevant secondary colleges, participated in the event.
Yin Meiying extended sincere greetings to the outstanding volunteers who have settled in the west, expressed the school’s highest expectations and best wishes to the new group of Western Plan volunteers on behalf of the school, and urged the volunteers to elevate their perspective, broaden their horizons and strengthen their beliefs. She encouraged them to bear in mind the major national issues, take on their mission and responsibilities, set high sails of idealism, work hard, forge ahead, leave deep footprints of their youth on the western soil, and integrate their individual aspirations into the greater collective. She also advised them to be modest, learn humbly and lay a solid foundation, integrating themselves into the collective, aspiring to serve the country, being willing to devote themselves to the grassroots, working for the well-being of the people and bringing glory to their alma mater.
At the ceremony, the main responsible comrades from the Youth League Committee read out the document “Decision on Commending Volunteers for 2024 College Student Volunteer Service Western Plan and Shandong Province College Student Volunteer Service Rural Revitalization Plan”. Responsible comrades from the Admissions and Employment Office and relevant comrades from the Student Affairs Department awarded certificates to the volunteer representatives of the secondary colleges, and the main responsible comrades from the Cooperation and Development Office awarded letters of appointment to the alumni liaison representatives.
