From April 24 to 25, the 2nd Athletics Meeting of Shandong University of Aeronautics (SDUA) was held successfully at the track and field stadium. Li Changhai, Secretary of the University Party Committee, Li Weinian, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee and University President, Yin Meiyin, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, Guo Xinwei and Sun Yinhe, Memeber of the University Party Committee and University Vice Presient, Li Jifeng, Memeber of the University Party Committee,Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission and Supervisory Commissioner, Gong Xinjun, Liu Baomin and Du Wei, Memeber of the University Party Committee and University Vice Presient, Lin Xiaojin, Memeber of the University Party Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department, Wang Tongyin, Memeber of the University Party Committee and Minister of the Organization Department, attended the opening and closing ceremonies.

Yin Meiying, on behalf of the university, delivered the opening address, noting that sports carry the dreams of national strength and national rejuvenation. The university has always attached great importance to sports, prioritizing students’ health and safety, and making healthy living a new campus trend. It is hoped that the organizing committee will organize the event carefully, the referees will be responsible, and the athletes will strive hard to demonstrate their spirits, showcasing the enthusiastic youth and excellent sports achievements of SDUA athletes.
At the sports meeting, the top 8 teams in the Group A and the top 3 teams in the Group were determined. Eight units received sportsmanship awards, and 4 units were awarded for their special contributions to the organization of the sports meeting. Wang Yafei from College of Economics and Management set a school new record in the women’s Group A shot put with a distance of 10.79 meters, and Ma Zhan from College of Physical Education break the men’s Group B school shot put record with a distance of 12.85 meters. The Flying College won the tile of President’s Cup, and 278 students and teachers were awarded as outstanding athletes, referees, and staff, achieving a double harvest in sports achievements and spiritual civilization.
On behalf of the university, Liu Baomin delivered the closing address, pointing out that the sports meeting fully demonstrated the innovative achievements of the university’s sports work. He hopes that students will make best use of their university life and will forge ahead toward a brilliant future worthy of their times, youth and themselves.
