Abstract: The Project of the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC) serves as a critical indicator of a university’s scientific research innovation capabilities and academic excellence. It plays an irreplaceable role in promoting disciplinary development, talent cultivation, and societal progress. Think tank suggestions not only provide decision-making references for governmental departments at all levels but also hold significant value for faculty members’ professional growth as a vital form of academic output. This lecture focuses on two key themes. One is sharing insights on NSSFC Project Applications including topic selection, research design, argumentation strategies, and foundational preparation. The other is the guidelines for crafting high-quality think tank reports. The discussion will address essential considerations in drafting research reports, such as enhancing report quality and selecting effective submission channels, based on years of practical experience. This academic lecture equips faculty members with advanced skills in preparing competitive NSSFC proposals and broaden their academic perspectives in policy-advising research.
