On the evening of March 8, Li Weinian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Shandong University of Aeronautics (SDUA), visited the student community and joined counselors who had just finished their dormitory inspection duties at the Counselors’ ‘Home in Apartment Building 16 for a discussion and exchange.
During the discussion, Li Weinian inquired in detail about the overall progress of students’ return to campus for registration, their safety during the journey, and whether there had been any special circumstances involving students during the holiday.He also made thorough inquiries about the preparations for the opening of student dormitories, focusing on aspects such as the operation of heating systems, the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment, the improvement of environmental hygiene, the allocation of property service personnel, and their attendance and performance of duties.He emphasized that the return of students to campus was a crucial aspect of ensuring campus safety and stability for the new semester. All schools must have accurate data and a clear grasp of the situation to ensure that every student returns safely and can devote themselves to academic lifewithout worries.As student dormitories were important places for students’ learning and living on campus, it was essential to adhere to a student-centered approach, closely monitor student needs, promptly address practical problems encountered by students in their accommodation, and continuously enhance management and service levels to ensure that students could live with peace of mind and comfort.He particularly underscored the importance of addressing students’ mental health in spring, requiring the entire student affairs team to enhance their ideological awareness, strengthen their sense of responsibility, comprehensively carry out mental health education and promotion, and make every effort to safeguard students’ physical and mental well-being.
