On September 11,Li Changhai, Secretary of Party Committee of Shandong University of Aeronautics (SDUA), and Yin Meiying, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, led a team into key areas of the campus to conduct an on-site inspection of campus safety.
The school leaders focused on fire safety, food hygiene and safety, construction safety, laboratory safety, and other priority areas. They inspected the computer rooms in network center, the university library, Zhongshuyuan canteen, student dormitories, construction sites of No. 21 and No. 22 Apartments Buildings, the freshmen military training ground, and the laboratories of the School of Biological and Pharmaceutical Engineering, conducting a comprehensive check for various potential safety hazards.
Li Changhai emphasized that campus safety brooks no negligence, and that the beginning of the semester marks a critical period for campus safety work. All responsible departments must thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on work safety and security stability. They must firmly guard against complacency and the mentality of taking chances. Departments must keep a close eye on key areas and critical links, establish a regular system for inspection and rectification, keep records of identified problems, set deadlines for corrections, so as to eliminate all potential safety risks at the initial stage. It is essential to consolidate and implement the accountability chain, refine prevention and control measures, strengthen inter-departmental coordination, and build a solid line of defense for campus safety. High-level safety will underpin the high-quality development of the university.
