At noon on September 10, Li Weinian, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee and President of Shandong University of Aeronautics (SDUA), together with Liu Baomin, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President, visited the staff canteen. They had lunch with faculty and staff members and engaged in friendly conversations, extending sincere holiday greetings and best wishes to all the people who work diligently in education and teaching, scientific research and management, and front line services.
Li Weinian spoke highly of the dedication and hard work demonstrated by the faculty and staff over the years in upholding their original mission of fostering talent and fulfilling their responsibilities. He pointed out that, as a distinctive aeronautics-oriented undergraduate university, SDUA has always shouldered the important mission of cultivating high-quality application-oriented talent for the development of the aeronautics industry and regional economic growth. He urged all faculty members to stay committed to the fundamental task of fostering virtual talents through education for CPC and China. Based on the university’s aeronautics features, they should devote themselves to teaching, research, administration and services, and fully integrate the spirit of serving the nation through developing aeronautics into the whole process of talent training. He also called for continued efforts in disciplinary development, further deepening industry-education integration and school-enterprise collaborative education. Faculty should cultivate sound teaching styles and academic ethos, pool strengths for development through solid work, continuously improve the quality of talent training and school-running capacity, and fully advance the high-quality development of all university undertakings.
He also put forward clear requirements for the accompanying staff from the logistics management department and the dining hall. He emphasized that logistics services are an important guarantee for the work of educating students and are closely related to the sense of fulfillment and well-being of faculty and staff. The university should always uphold the principle of serving those who educate students, spare no effort to provide faculty and staff with healthy, safe, delicious, and thoughtful dining services, effectively strengthen the campus logistics support system, and lay a solid foundation for the high-quality development of the university’s education and teaching endeavors.
